CRRC's Dalian plants in China host training sessions on the BORT system

For the national carrier of the Republic of Kazakhstan, JSC "NC "KTZ"" ("Kazakhstan Temir Zholy"), CRRC manufactures and supplies TE36A diesel locomotives at its plant in Dalian, China. The first two locomotives arrived in Kazakhstan in December 2024 and are completing certification.

This model was specially developed by CRRC for KTZ based on the Fuxing platform. The six-axle TE36A diesel locomotive is fitted with a 12-cylinder 12V265C diesel engine rated at 3.5 MW. Fuel consumption is stated at 198 g/kWh, with a maximum speed of 120 km/h. The locomotive is equipped with the BORT locomotive traffic safety system, developed by the Russian company Transtelesoft (part of the TMH Intelligent Systems group).

Under the agreement between CRRC and JSC "NC "KTZ"", Kazakhstan will receive 100 mainline diesel locomotives and 100 shunting diesel locomotives, along with the establishment of engineering and service centres in Kazakhstan. The first CKD6S shunting locomotives have been supplied since summer 2024 and are likewise equipped with the BORT locomotive traffic safety system.

As part of upskilling for specialists involved in the operation, servicing and repair of JSC "NC "KTZ"" locomotives, technical training sessions were held at CRRC's plants in Dalian. Transtelesoft ran seminars on "Design and operation of the BORT traffic safety system on the TE36A diesel locomotive."

Training qualified specialists in operation and maintenance is the foundation for the reliable performance of individual systems, units and assemblies, as well as for the efficient, safe and trouble-free operation of the locomotive as a whole.
